New Scholarship for Taiwan-based Program

The Taiwan Ministry of Education (MOE) recently announced important scholarship support for students participating in American Councils’ new English-taught semester program, Tradition and Modernity in Taiwan (TMT)

To be awarded on the basis of academic merit and financial need, the new MOE scholarships will range from $500 up to $8,000. Awards may be combined with other sources of financial aid, including several additional scholarships administered by American Councils, to cover program costs.

This funding comes in addition to the MOE’s ongoing support for our Taiwan Intensive Summer and Semester Language Programs (TISLP) . Awards for these programs also range up to $8,000. They continue to make a vital difference in the ability of U.S. students to engage in intensive immersion-based language study in Taiwan for a summer or semester.

The American Councils are strongly committed to ensuring that all qualified and interested applicants can join the overseas program of their choice, regardless of cost. Support such as that provided by the MOE is critical to these efforts. .
