Course description: An examination of the cultures, literatures, and languages of East Asia through intensive analysis and discussion of primary texts in translation, critical articles, and visual materials. Priority given to Chinese, Japanese and Korean majors. It is the Gateway course for the majors, and is required of majors in their first or second year. Writing intensive.
