KREN- 3005: Advanced Korean Composition

Course Description: This course is designed for students with advanced proficiency in Korean who have completed KREN 2002 Third Level Korean II or its equivalent. The course develops advanced writing skills across a range of genres, from everyday practical writing to formal academic and professional texts. Students will analyze sample texts to deepen their awareness of different writing styles and genres, expand genre-specific vocabulary and expressions, and study the
conventional structures that shape coherent writing. They will also practice organizing extended ideas in a logical and persuasive manner, connecting new information with existing knowledge, and refining rhetorical strategies. Over the course of the semester, students will build the skills necessary to represent and critique the ideas of others accurately, cite sources properly, and ultimately produce compositions that demonstrate both critical analysis and stylistic control.
